Fundamental create furniture and homewares inspired by the mathematics of nature. The Berlin-based design firm was founded by former architects Gunnar Rönsch and Stephen K Molloy. Taking inspiration from the natural world, Gunnar and Stephen use patterns and forms observed in the outdoors as the starting block for all their designs. Fundamental products are then created from natural materials such as European oak, Douglas fir, pure sheet metal, as well as an array of innovative new resources. Whether it’s working with artisans in Bohemia to craft their tables or traditional stone crafts in Pakistan for marble, Fundamental products are always expertly crafted in small and respectfully-run factories.
