While studying in Bristol – arguably one of the rainiest places in Europe – Franco-British entrepreneur David Kapikian dreamt up his idea for an umbrella brand that would turn the tables on what has historically been an unfashionable accessory. His Paris-based brand Anatole was founded in 2017 and offers high-quality “micro-umbrellas” that are designed to complement your outfit and never let you down. Despite their small size (just 17.5cm when folded, and only 220g) these compact umbrellas are ultra-resistant thanks to their innovative technology. A strong aluminium and titanium mast folds smoothly into five sections and each fiberglass rib is reinforced with carbon to ensure ultimate wind resistance. Anatole’s impressive range of twenty different colours includes five dual-colour designs and three striped styles, each made from the most water repellent polyester. What’s more, with its beautifully carved maple wood handle and grosgrain hand strap, rainy days have never looked so good!
